A company goes through many steps before they hire an applicant for a job position. A hiring process is followed step-by-step for the hiring of the employees. The searching process takes much time but it is better to spend time rather than appointing the wrong person for the job. A company gives advertisement in the newspaper and on the online job-related websites. They provide the complete information about the job and what are their requirements for the applicants. For the hiring process, they allow people to fill the forms for applying for the job and get the necessary information about the applicants, and then they conduct an interview by calling them on the phone or skype and most of the time they call them in their office. If the job is out of the country, then skype interview is conducted.
After conducting the interviews with the selected applicants, the members of the HR department sit together to make the decision of selecting the right person for the job. The step-by-step process of hiring employees is as follows:
1. Identify the hiring needs
The position of a job is identified as available if the previous employee has left the job. The hiring staff makes a list of special requirements for the applicant such as qualification, age, and experience.
2. Make a plan
The hiring staff should be involved in the decision of the hiring employees. They should discuss the process, steps, and how the interview will be conducted.
3. Create a job description.
They create the job description by including all the necessary information for the job role. They also list the benefits of working for their company such as environment, compensation, and benefits.
4. Promote the job by posting.
They should advertise the post internally, so the current employees can be able to apply. Then they post it on the job sites, on their company’s website, social media, and newspapers etc.
4. Recruitment
The hiring staff should find the qualified and experienced person for the job from LinkedIn, social media, and industry events. This will help those people who have not reached the post but are eligible for the post.
5. Screening of the applicants
They receive applications by email with the CVS and cover letters based on the published criteria for the job then interviews are conducted and the selected applicants are given proper training for the job.
